I purchased a pet carrier for my dog airport question?

I purchased a deluxe pet carrier for my dog but i am concerned about the dementions. I cant have him in the cargo area because he is a pug. the dementions are 15in W X 23in D X 12 1/2 in H I would like to bring him with me in the cabin. i am flying United Airlines. Is this carrier to big? will I have to buy a new one. I purchased it online from walmart.com thanks
or would i have to purchase aconomy plus seat

Max size for hard-sided kennels is 17x12x8, for soft-sided 17x10x10.
It has to fit under the seat in front of you. Buying an economy plus seat will not change the size requirements.
P.S. The word is "dimensions"!
yes, it is too tall. You better hope that puggo will fit in an 8 inch tall carrier, and be able to stand up & turn around….else he is going in cargo, and yes, you should be concerned about brachycephalic breed. Check with your vet
