Question by Priscilla B: What’s the best small dog for me?
I’m still leaning towards a chihuahua, but I’m wondering if people with some more experience with dogs can make some other suggestions. I’m looking for something that fits this criteria:
*Comfortable living in an apartment
*gets along well with other small dogs (I spend a lot of time with my mother, who has a teacup yorkie that loves other small dogs).
*affectionate
*light enough to easily transport by carrier via public transportation (I do not have a car, but it’s easy to get around my city).
*relatively low risk for serious health problems (unlike pugs, for example)
Also, keep in mind I will be a first time dog owner.
Would a Boston Terrier or French bulldog be a good match? I love how friendly those breeds are, but wonder if they have a lot of health problems.
Thanks in advance!

Answer by kye Yorkie-poo’s are very nice dogs. it is a cross between a yorkie and a poodle. They do not shed. I have one and they get along really good with other dogs. They can be transported in pet carriers too.

Question by Alice C: Is the sherpa pet carriers too small for my puppy?
I bought one of those carriers for my puppy because he is going to be on the plane with me when we fly to Anchorage. I followed the measurements of buying the right size for him which is a medium…but how much room should he have to move around? He can move around in it from one end to the other. He also spins in it sometimes and other times he is just on one side…. but he looks pretty cramped to me. So how much room is he supposed to have? Maybe he’s just not used to it? I just feel sorry for him.

Answer by Ocimom He should be fine – they can safely be used on cats and puppies/dogs up to about 15 lbs. If your puppy is larger then that, he will have to fly in cargo.
