Question by : How do I best fly with a puppy as a carry-on?
Most of the search results I find discuss how to prepare your dog from cargo transport. I am having a hard time finding good tips for how to best fly with a puppy as a carry-on. My beagle puppy will be 11 1/2 weeks when he flies, and I worry about several things. Most importantly, how do I best prevent the puppy from having to go in his carrier (something that crate training is supposed to prevent)? If he does have to go, is there anything to do besides handle the whimpering until he wets himself? Also, has anyone heard of flight-specific problems that would cause a dog discomfort (e.g. ear popping, etc.)? I know it will be tough to keep our dog quiet in a carrier for the long flight as it is, I am mostly wondering if I should expect something out of the ordinary.
Any other advice would also be well appreciated.
Thanks for the concern about whether or not the airline will allow this, but it has been cleared by the airline and vet (pending the required check-up 10 days before the flight).

Answer by kingdrake2 my advice: have a blanket or something that has your smell so it doesn’t be lonely. if it is a vacation it may be the best idea to have it left at a pet hotel ie kennel shelter until your return. make sure to have your dog “eliminate” its bowels and bladder before getting on plane it will be a stressful time for it but it should survive, make sure to have its records in case you don’t have those (some airlines require em) just a vaccinations list.

Question by Chad_1_1: How to get a pet coyote to the vet.?
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get a pet coyote into the pet carrier to the vet she needs to get shots. I had her to go into it then my grandfather came out and screamed and hollered and “worked her” by that he means getting her in a corner and thrashing his arms and legs around while hollering and bellowing. Now when she sees that pet carrier she runs and hides like she is afraid of it.

Boone was originally rescued from an over-crowded shelter near Nashville, TN. After a stint in foster care, he was adopted in 2004. His behavior started to get worse over the years and he was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain spotted fever in 2007. The vet chose not to treat–even tho he was having aggression and neurological issues. His titer was low but we have found out this past year that not only can humans be carriers for this disease–but so can pets. His family subsequentally dumped him in a Nebraska shelter when they felt they could no longer trust him around their kids. He had rage aggression (due to RMSF fear psychosis) and we started doxycycline treatment right away. He’s been on antibiotics for several weeks and now that he is where his behavior can be monitored better with the President of IBR–he is doing much better. A lot of his fear aggression is disappating. The damage is done–but we are hopeful that he is less confused and out of pain. He is a sweet boy deserving of another chance at a forever home. Answer by cpinatsi You need one bed, 2 bowls, a collar and leash, a name tag, a dog house if he gets outdoors, one flea and tick collar and liquid, one bag of food, an arrangement with the vet to check him up and vaccinate if necessary, and to put a microchip, 2 toys(a ball and a plastic hot dog or something), 2 chews or rawhide, and you need to learn about training the puppy – consult a trainer or book. No violence, it is useless and damaging. Pet Insurance is not necessary, but it is advisable to have.
